Using AI to Help Nonprofits: Good360 & Salesforce
At the Salesforce Agentforce World Tour in NYC (#SalesforcePartner), I had the chance to speak with Stephane Moulec, Chief Technology Officer at Good360; Amy Guterman, Senior Director of Innovation, Philanthropy at Salesforce; and Lashowna Dukes, Senior Salesforce Administrator at Good360. We talked about how AI and technology are transforming nonprofit work and making a real difference.
Stephane explained how Good360 connects surplus products from companies to people who need them. “Every year, millions of pounds of new products go to landfills,” he said. “At the same time, millions of households can’t afford basic items. Good360 bridges this gap, and in 2023, we distributed over $3 billion worth of products to help millions of people.” The organization has an ambitious goal to impact 40 million people by 2026, and they are using Salesforce’s tools, like Nonprofit Cloud and AI, to scale their efforts. Moreover, Amy shared how Salesforce’s AI for Impact program is helping nonprofits like Good360 adopt AI. “Many nonprofits don’t have the resources to take risks with new technology,” she said. “This program gives them funding, tools, and expert support to explore AI in ways that help their missions.” She emphasized the importance of empowering nonprofits to use technology to solve problems and improve their operations.
Adding to this, Stephane described how Good360 is using an Agentforce internally to handle tasks like donation management and reporting. He explained that “AI doesn’t replace people, it helps them save time and do more with less.”
“The assistant removes the noise so our team can focus on helping people,” he said. Lashowna built on this point by sharing how they worked to build trust in Agentforce. “When we first introduced AI, there was some fear,” she admitted. “But through training and clear communication, we’ve shown how it can make our work easier and help us get back to what matters most.”
Looking to the future, Good360 has big plans for Agentforce. They want to use it for fundraising and creating tailored solutions for their partners. Reflecting on this potential, Stephane expressed his excitement about how Agentforce can quickly analyze data and provide useful insights. “We’re just beginning to see how Agentforce can help us scale our work and help more people,” he said.
