Preparing for the DATAcated Conference

With just 4 days left until the DATAcated Conference (March 1, 2022), there’s still several tasks on my ‘to do’ list.

Preparation takes time

Preparing for a conference takes a great deal of effort in planning, creativity, execution, and patience. Although the scheduled event will run for about 4 -5 hours in total, it has taken months of work to make it happen.

Speakers

Thought is put into identifying the perfect speakers that have insights to share with our audience. Working to secure speakers is one of the most rewarding parts of the conference planning experience; getting on the calendars of these brilliant individuals is no small task. Creating the agenda for the virtual event is tough, but get’s even more complicated as all of the talks are completely LIVE, and speakers only have 10 minutes to present their main ideas.

Sponsors & community partners

Working with sponsors and community partners is always interesting; identifying those that align with your brand and are interested in a partnership is not always that easy. We are extremely thankful to the sponsors that are working with us for our fifth conference: Cinchy, TIBCO, Ataccama, AtScale, and Zetaris. Another wave of gratitude for our community partners that are providing some fun giveaways and media partnerships to help spread the word about the conference: LightsOnData, The Ravit Show, Data Career Jumpstart, Business Science, Data Science Infinity, Data with Danny, Packt, and Learn Data Engineering.

Technology

Setting up the streaming platform is easy thanks to StreamYard — they provide a great deal of flexibility with streaming the event in a live fashion and allows us to incorporate some fun with banners, giveaways, and sporadic video clips. Working along with ConvertKit to get the event on everyone’s calendar, technology makes this process simpler.

Innovation

This is our fifth conference (first one was October 2020), and each time we try to do at least something different. Either the focus of the event is on different topics, or we have a phot booth, or some other surprises. For this upcoming event, we are actually planning to have an after party! This will include fun giveaways, trivia, and surprise guests. We are also planning to provide a POAP (proof of attendance protocol) NFT for those that register for the conference.

Register

Make sure you sign up for the event to get the access to the recordings, giveaways, NFT, and more! It is free to join us and your information will NOT be shared with third-parties. You can sign up here.

Hope to see you there!

Stay DATAcated
