Closing the Gaps in AI: Practical Solutions and Fresh Perspectives from DataRobot
I recently hosted a LinkedIn Live session called Closing the Gaps in AI with DataRobot. I spoke with Prajakta Damle, Head of Product, and Justin Swansburg, VP of Applied AI & Data Science at DataRobot. They shared updates about their work and how they’re helping businesses use AI more easily and effectively.
Prajakta told me about their new look; I’m loving the light green refreshing look and cool logo!
DataRobot is continuing to help businesses solve problems with AI. They are focused on fixing three main challenges: making AI projects show real results, building trust in AI tools, and helping teams work well together.
Justin talked about their new Enterprise AI Suite. This tool uses predictive and generative AI to help businesses make applications fast and safely. One feature, called AI application templates, stood out. Prajakta compared it to a meal kit (like Hello Fresh) — you get all the parts to build an AI application, and you can customize it for your needs. This saves a lot of time, cutting development from months to just weeks.
We talked about their survey of over 700 AI leaders. It showed that most AI projects take too long — about 7.5 months — to go from testing to production. Justin said businesses now want real results, not just ideas. DataRobot is helping with tools like governance systems and templates that teams can use right away to make AI easier to adopt. Justin talked about these tools like getting a full refrigerator delivered, ready for use vs. getting a huge bag of refrigerator parts delivered with minimal instructions. I’d choose the ready-built fridge anyday :)
For anyone new to AI, Justin and Prajakta gave simple advice: start experimenting. Try building something small using the tools available. They also said the AI community is very helpful. People are happy to share tips and lessons they’ve learned.
